Event: Chingay - Asia's grandest street & floats parade!

Have you ever experienced a multi-racial celebration event? Here’s your chance! Visit Singapore during our festive season to join us in Asia’s grandest street & floats event. In year 2008, the theme for the event was “DreamS” and in year 2009, it was called “Project Wonderland”.

Held with a special theme each year, Singapore’s first Chingay Parade started as an all-Chinese affair in year 1973. Grand floats and thousands of performers from local and international organisations today started from simple performances such as lion and dragon dances, big-head dolls, martial art demonstrations and stiltwalkers. From a small Chinese cultured event, Chingay has now popularised and grown, attracting groups from every continent of the world to participate eagerly in this Street Parade. From housing estates, the Parade had upgraded to Orchard Road in 1985 and upgraded further to City Hall and Marina Bay area to enhance the atmosphere with the help of the fantastic night view.

What can you expect from Chingay Parade 2010? Needless to say, the scale of the Parade will definitely be jaw-droppingly huge; it will also be international and multi-racial. Visit Singapore and you will not regret! Admission fees ranges from S$25 (side of gallery), to S$80 (best seats!). Do not want to spend money? Even though the free areas are barricaded with railings, come and enjoy the atmosphere of this exciting and crazy event! It will be a fantastic and fascinating experience that you will never regret in your entire life!
